Carol Naughton Ceramics

Carol Naughton is a ceramic artist who creates wheel thrown and hand built, one of a kind, functional pottery. The forms reflect her love of fine cooking, gardening and nature.

Carol uses porcelain and stoneware clays to create her ceramic pieces. The clay is high fired using a gas kiln that is capable of achieving a wide range of glaze surfaces and colors. Some of Carol's glazes reference historic Japanese glazes. Many of the pieces have drawings and sculptural additions or alterations to the base form.

The strong visual aesthetic and functionality of her ceramics is reflective of her environmental graphic design and exhibit design background. Carol is an internationally renown and award winning designer who owned a Chicago design firm, Carol Naughton + Associates.

The studio is located in a remodeled 1876 stone Granary on a beautiful farm in the driftless region of Southwest Wisconsin. The historic limestone construction and colors of the granary are reflected in Carol's clays and glaze choices.

The Fall Art Tour was great last year. Sunny warm weather, beautiful fall colors, so many visitors to my studio and so many interesting conversations about ceramics. It is nice to be able to have our Tour event filled with smiles and laughter.

This years Fall Art Tour will be on October 18, 19, and 20, between the hours of 10am and 6pm. This year will be our 31st Anniversary since starting the Tour.

Thank you for your continued support over the last year. I look forward once again to visiting and sharing my studio space, my new work, and our lives with the friends who visit, old and new.
